The Scam Unfolds
The player recounted how another user, In_Claim, offered to pay Robux for their Godlys. The trade involved highly sought-after items such as the Bloom Knife, Heartwand, Heartblade, Treat, and the new Beachy set. The scammer reportedly instructed the player to create a gamepass on the popular 'Pls Donate' experience, assuring them the Robux would appear in their pending transactions shortly after the purchase was made. Believing the transaction was legitimate, the player proceeded with the trade, handing over their precious items.
However, the promised Robux never materialized in the player's pending transactions. Despite seeing the scammer seemingly purchase the gamepass, the funds simply vanished, leaving the player without their Godlys and without the Robux they were promised. The victim openly admitted to feeling foolish for falling for the trick but expressed a strong desire to recover their lost items, mentioning they have proof of the transaction.
Why Off-Platform Trades are Risky
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the inherent dangers associated with off-platform trading. While the allure of quick Robux or unique items can be strong, transactions that take place outside of Roblox's official trading system are entirely unregulated and unsupported. This means that if something goes wrong, Roblox has very little, if any, ability to intervene or reverse the transaction.
